Sakura was still thinking about what had happened earlier this past month and a lot was changing. Sasuke had changed so much and Naruto had come back and he was so different. Everyone had changed and it made her smile and cry for different reasons. Sure she had changed but but in some respects, she was still the same. Was there ever going to be a time when she was truly happy with her life? Probably not for a long time if things continued on the way they were.
What was life anyways? True it had it's challenges but it had it's blessings as well. She exhaled as she looked at the sky. Many things could become your reason to live and she had many and possibly more were on their way. She sat down under a tree and stared at the ground as her hands began to pick at the flowers at her feet. Oh to be a child again, that innocence of firsts. First crush, first dance and many more. She shook her head as she rolled her eyes. Her childlike thoughts of yester-year were replaced by mature and ration thoughts. She was unaware that someone was nearby since she was too busy with her thoughts to really notice.

Someone ahead.
To anyone that wasn't an Inuzuka, the statement would have been completely incomprehensible - perhaps even going unnoticed. A twitch of the ears, a soft whuff of breath, head tilting ever so slightly - nothing too visible. But for Metsuki, it was easily the only conversation she participated in most of the time, and understanding it was as easy and integral as breathing. She turned her head to watch her dog ghost among the trees, deceptively light and graceful for something her size. She appreciated the warning - on some days, she preferred to avoid everyone possible. The days when she tried to find Shirami's tracks, or when she was a useless tracker and had to find makework to occupy her time and fill up the sudden gaping hole in her world. She imagined it was similar to being suddenly blinded - to have a vast expanse before you, everything clear, and then have it suddenly torn away.
Still, today was not one of those days, so she stuck to her winding path through the trees, not worried by Ao moving on ahead. Her partner would never leave her alone for long, and not having her when she met someone tended to make the encounters a little easier.
Today her sense of smell was keen enough to pick up a human scent, but not specific enough to tell her anything else. Mildly curious as to who else was spending time in the forest, she slowed to a meandering pace as the other came into view.
"I'm sorry - am I intruding?" she asked, tilting her head to one side. Again the awareness of how crippled she was without her dog or her sense of smell surfaced - she didn't have a good enough memory for faces to recognize who this was. Smell, the sound of one's voice - both were easier indicators, and without Ao to tell her if she knew them or without her own senses to rely on, she was left in ignorance.

Sakura was brought back to reality when Metsuki spoke up and she was rather glad for company."Hello Metsuki-San, no you're not intruding on anything but irrational thoughts." That was the truth and Sakura knew it. there was no point in lying about it. She had wondered and made herself crazy over every thought. Maybe someone who didn't know all the bad things would help her mind and heart be one again.
She exhaled as she worried her bangs until they became knotted and frizzy. She looked back at the sky as she thought about what she should do about her thoughts. On the one hand Naruto was the right guy for her and he treated her so well. That was who her mind wanted her to be with but her traitorous heart said Sasuke even though he probably didn't feel anything but stone cold hate towards her. But there were problems with what her mind was leaning towards: Hinata. Hinata loved Naruto and she didn't want to make her close friend and possibly her best friend down the road to have any heart ache but Naruto didn't love her like he loved her. Oh the irony. It was bitter and filled with everything that came with bad things.
